Boutique Days 2024

In 2024, the Fairy Godmother Ottawa boutique days will take place on Monday, April 8th and Tuesday, April 9th. Watch here for details appearing in February.

Who we are

Fairy Godmother of Ottawa is a non-profit organization dedicated to making prom night magical for all area teens.

We collect new and almost-new formal dresses, shoes and accessories, and provide them free of charge to Ottawa-area high school students who are unable to purchase their own prom attire.

We distribute the dresses and accessories during our scheduled boutique days. Each student receives individual assistance from a volunteer personal shopper as she looks through our inventory for the dress of her dreams.

To date we have dressed more than 1500 Ottawa area girls for their high school prom.

Our ultimate goal is to have a positive influence on our students by helping them to look and feel beautiful celebrating their accomplishments alongside their peers on prom night.

Who needs a Fairy Godmother?

Graduating high school students who are unable to purchase their own prom attire are welcome to attend Fairy Godmother's boutique days.

We currently rely on students' honesty to verify financial need. Each student is allowed to take home a single dress and related accessories.

Donate a dress

What clothes can I donate?

Fairy Godmother accepts donations of formal dresses, shoes, purses, jewelry and unopened cosmetics and hosiery.

Donations should be in new or almost-new condition.

We are only seeking current-style gowns. Before donating, ask yourself if you would wear, or allow your daughter or best friend to wear, the item to a formal event. If the answer is “YES” then it is appropriate for donation to Fairy Godmother.

Where can I bring or send clothing Donations?

Donations can be dropped off at any Browns Cleaners location.
